Nurse Board Registration Unlike other places overseas, registration with the Nurses Board in Australia is maintained by each individual State. There are essentially 2 forms of registration that the majority of Nurses apply for:

Initial Application for Registration as a Nurse (For all NEW applicants) OR
Application under Mutual Recognition as a Nurse (For applicants who currently have Registration in a State of Australia and intending to work in another State)

Please Note: If you are a New Zealand Nurse you can apply direct to certain States in Australia (eg. New South Wales) under the ‘Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Application’ providing you have current New Zealand Registration.
